Responsibilities:

• Work closely with mobile and frontend engineers to design APIs that work today and can evolve for future functionality
• Work cross-functionally with product, engineering, and design teams across Paybek to ensure a consistent and clear developer experience
• Design and implement high-volume, low-latency, distributed transaction processing systems, making thoughtful tradeoffs between consistency and availability when both are not possible
• See the big picture to design robust experiences so the team can be brave and move fast, without showing a negative impact on customers
• Build systems that manage customers’ sensitive data and hold Paybek to the highest standards for security and compliance

Requirements:

• Experience with and an understanding of how to successfully lead complex projects, breaking down the work into components and milestones that can easily be picked up by other engineers
• 1 year (or above) experience in back-end development
• Excellent skills in data modeling and data management
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• English (at least intermediate level)

Technical requirements:

• Python
• Django, DRF
• Git
• AWS
• Unit tests, performance, and integration tests
• RDBMS (i.e.. MySQL / PostgreSQL)
• HTTP / WebSocket
